Join us in celebrating the 100th ANNIVERSARY of the greatest college fight song in the nation, “On Wisconsin!”
In 1909, W.T. Purdy composed the melody and former UW student Carl Beck supplied the lyrics for what's now considered one of the country's most popular school songs. Since then, it’s been sung at thousands of Badger games, events and celebrations.
We invite YOU to help celebrate its centennial by adding your own voice to the chorus.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- Largest group performance
- Performance farthest from Madison
- Most creative performance
- Best overall performance
The contest runs through April 2010.
You can also support the anniversary by purchasing The Red Shirt, a limited-edition T-shirt developed by the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA). A portion of the proceeds from Red Shirt sales will help fund need-based financial aid through the UW Foundation’s Great People Scholarship Campaign. This year’s Red Shirt features the lyrics to “On Wisconsin!”
